There’s some Robert Johnson in there, Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), and even some Stevie Ray Vaughan. So that’s why I only did it for the first verse. Now I’m not a ragtime guitarist, so I had to kind of figure out how to do it with the thumb mimicking the left hand on the piano and jumping around the octaves. For some reason, I had the idea of Scott Joplin sitting down at a piano and playing a ragtime version of this. I figured I wouldn’t have a lot of opportunities to over-indulge myself in an arrangement, so I had to make the most of this one.
